Default Pontiacs at Island is there an interest?

Some other racers and myself are trying to gauge interest in a Pontiac race at Island this fall. This will probably be a low key affair, no big bucks track rental for a day but probably on a Sat or Sun T/T day. Please don't ask a lot of questions at this time but just let us know of an interest with a post.

I'd be in and know two or three others who would likely go.

I talked with the originators of this idea yesterday at Atco and we have had a so so response to the idea. Lack of interest, excuses. We know there is a hardcore group that will come to race no matter if money is involved or not. Island had nice turn outs for Pontiac Power Sunday years ago and there were only trophies involved. Our thoughts were to make it a gamblers race, kick in some money to a pot. Island lets groups such as MANDRA, NETO, East Coast Gassers and others race on test & tune Sundays. Usually it's 2 time shots then eliminations. So we are going to kick around ideas over the winter, lets hear some ideas. Maybe this should be moved to the race section, I'll let the moderator make that decision.

Why don't you guys just go on a test-n-tune day and show the track that there still are many Pontiac racers left.

There are a few more Sunday tnt's left on their schedule. Maybe 11/10 or 11/17?

...before everybody puts their cars away for the winter.

If you are going to do it next year, include a car show too! There are plenty of Pontiac show cars that will love to support this event. We could work with Garden State chapter and Little Indians chapter of POCI to get the show coordinated.

A Pontiac Show n Go would be great. With enough notice, promotion (word of mouth and web) this could have a big turn out.

I'd love to participate.
