Knock about $5500 off the price, and knock that POS scoop off with a baseball bat,and I'd drive it.

All kidding aside (exept for the hood scoop of course) that is 1 loaded Tempest, A/C, Powere Steering and Power Brakes. And if it is a 67 4-door Sprint Tempest (all I can tell by the bad pic's is that it has a 4bbl air cleaner and lid.) That is a Very Rare Car, and that would make it the 3rd 4-door sprint I have seen, Fred Simmonds 67 4-door Lemans, a very Rusty 66 Lemans I parted out 20 years ago, and this 67 Tempest.

That would mean a lot to many people if it didn't have 2 too many doors. Lots of very rare cars out there not worth significant money. That's not to say someone won't buy this one for too much. If it had 2 doors I'd own it today. Maybe Fred needs a hood scoop?

I agree, it is just a bit overpriced, if solid, running, and a real sprint I would say it is a $1500 to $2500 car max. $7000 is just a bit unrealistic!!!!!!! Maybe if it was a low Milage Surviver, MAAAAYYYYYYBBBBBBEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

That car would be a real hoot to drive around town with REALLY loud muffler, just to get the look on people's faces at the stoplights... Just rev it up and look at them witcha cheap sunglasses on and a dead serious look on yo' face.
Actually, it's a real nice car without the scoop.

It's a four door, six cylinder. The reason it might be rare is because no one wanted a four door, six banger with a bench seat in 1967. If you showed up at a stop light back in the day with this car, especially with that stupid looking scoop and ugly mags, you'd get laughed off the street. I'm not saying a Pontiac six is bad; Nor am I saying a four door is the worst; A bench seat can have it's merits too. But be honest, if you were buying a new Pontiac in 1967, would you order a four door, six cylinder with a bench, or a two door v-8 with bucket seats and a center console? Rare does not always equal valuable or desirable.
All that aside, in present day, I cannot see how it could be worth $7k under any circumstances. I would consider buying it for $2500 tops, if it were clean and original. In its present condition, he should take a zero off, $1500 tops. |

My curiosity got the best of me and I called Nutsy about the '60 Wagon. There are new pics. He bought it with the 4 wheel drive chassis under it. It was supposed to have a 470 Cad engine in it with a automatic trans and divorced transfer case but the engine was gone. The car is pretty clean. If anyone calls him he is quite a talker! |

That's an acquired taste. I actually like the 4x4 Pontiac look. A few years back I saw a 67Tempest or Lemans like that. Unfortunately it was too far away for me to buy it.
That brings up a question with builds like that. Some say the title follows the vin of the chassis; Others say the title follows the vin on the body. So would that be legally titled a Pontiac or whatever the chassis was? This comes up in constant argument over when a GTO restoration using a good Lemans body actually becomes a Lemans cloned as a GTO. Some would say it is a GTO because the chassis is the GTO. Others would say, "No, it's a Lemans because the body had a Lemans vin originally". So, with that said, is this still legally a Pontiac Safari? |

The vehicles title goes by the VIN number of the body in all states.... as far as I know. The chassis's vin number on vehicles with full frames is the same as the body unless it's been damaged or rusted out and replaced with another.

Dynacorn probably puts their own serial number on them. At that point, I guess that's the way the state would register it.

1978 Chevette
Don't miss out on an opportunity to buy a real "super cool VERY rare car" for less than $4k!!! Of the value sources listed I do notice he doesn't mention Barrett Jackson!
NOT MINE, but in my local craigslist.... http://okaloosa.craigslist.org/cto/4165655819.html ************************************************** ************** This car is in amazing condition and only has 67k miles on it. It was old lady driven for almost the entire life of the car. She passed away and left the car to her mechanic who has taken care of it since it was new (I have all service record). He in turn tuned it up to give to his grandson who ended up not wanting it. I'm technically the 3rd owner but more like the second because the mechanic who sold it to me never drove it. It's an automatic 3spd, COLD AIR, Yes COLD AIR!!! Works like a charm. Everything is original AM Radio, vinyl seats are in great shape and so is the dash. Garaged kept its entire life, no rust (except for one small ding on passenger side, see photo) Cranks up every time and purrs like a kitten. Title is free an clear. I'm about to move my business into my garage which is forcing the sale of this car. I know I will regret it because it's just a super cool VERY rare car that turns heads and provokes questions on every drive. I calculated the asking price from NADA and all the Chevettes that have sold on EBAY and listed on Auto Trader Classic. $3800.00 obo Please contact Matt 85zero.517.6zero88 or shoot me a text Last edited by DanC; 11-04-2013 at 04:56 PM. |

I notice that this "amazing condition" car has been treated to one of those paint jobs where, rather than removing them, they just paint over the emblems.

I wonder, seeing the bodies are Officially Licensed, if you could use your original cowl and VIN tags with your States permission. Too bad they don't make a Pontiac A-body for 66 or 67.
