'69 GTO Conv Royal Bobcat clone on Ebay
Is it me or is this person out in left field???
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-GTO-...US_Cars_Trucks Love the mention that this GTO was built with ALOT of attention to detail...No S/S mouldings on trunk and 1/4 edges?? Keep the foam fillers on the RAM AIR system? Look at the way the front seat covers have terrible pleats on them... Sorry but when you open your mouth and try to make yours stand out by comparing it to others (and ask a starting bid of $125k) you're asking for trouble... Oh and if you want the original engine and rear, that can be purchased...

If I'm not mistaken, a few months ago he was starting at $175k, with a $275k buy-it-now. So much more reasonable now ;-)

428 with only a .030 overbore does not equal 455 ci. Lots of misinformation.
I restored a concourse winning 69 GTO Warwick Blue, Parchment vinyl top, and Parchment interior 4 speed back in 91. It was a one owner meticulously maintained car with only 50,000 miles when I got it. Just picked up a 69 Lemans Warwick Blue, Parchment vinyl top, Medium Blue interior loaded with options (see 69 Lemans thread). Mark C |

yeah, I remember when it had that BIN for $275k. I think with all of the watchers on his auction (which makes him think it's going to get tons of action) has him missing the point that the watchers are just watching to see if someone actually buys it, not because they're interested in purchasing the car. |

Mark, no offense taken -- but it's EVR, not EVER!!!!!!! hahahaha -- here's the story behind that. roll back to the early internet days, you know, back when you got an AOL on line disc in the mail every other day.....So we signed up for our first AOL account and my wife suggests GTO4EVER....but that's taken already, so we clip an E out and voila, we're on AOL.....never bothered changing it from that day forward....to hard to keep aliases straight over all the different places on this confounded interwebs thing!
Robert....no need to change your username, just have to change your avatar picture! (you forgot to add this pic to the thread....it's mandatory on all threads you start!) |

The best part is "it's all numbers matching except for the engine and rear end". The engine is what makes it numbers matching douche.

You know, all his stupid comments aside and that silly wing on the deck lid, and the bunched up seat covers, its a good looking car going by photos. I believe he has seen one Barrett/Jackson to many.

"Take a close look at all the photos, this GTO has been assembled better than any ever were off the factory line. Painstaking measures were taken to make every gap between sheet metal and all exterior parts absolutely prefect. Pay special attention to the front end and rear bumper on this car compared to other GTO's, and you WILL see the difference. You won't find another GTO with such perfect gaps around the entire vehicle. Check the hide away headlights that open and close properly, plus stay open like they are supposed to do."
And the cruise doesn't work?

I wonder how much "pain staking" time was put into ensuring that the door-to-rear quarter lower stripe did NOT line up properly? That looks like it took some effort to screw up! Nice tail pipes too...factory perfect...except for the type of pipe, placement, lack of angle cut...
I begrudge the seller nothing - it's his car to make as he wants and his to ask what he wants for sale. I do, however, find it amusing to make such claims about fit & finish to see so many problems with the car (most of which I did not mention - like contaiminents in the ram air scoop paint...
