Default Seriuosly, Will Ferrell??

I don't know why I am posting this here, but I have to see if I'm the only one who doesn't get Will Ferrell.
Is he not the unfunniest "funny man" on the planet? I believe I have a good sense of humor. I guess he is trying to be dry and campy at the same time - things I normally appreciate. But I can't get even a giggle from his attempts at comedy.
Now that he is literally EVERYWHERE promoting his latest lame movie, I am wearing out my remote control finger trying to get away from him.

You're not the only one.

I never liked him or any of the movies he was in.

What he said. FWIW I feel the same about Adam Sandler. Needs to be added to the "Things You Don't Get" thread.

That is the ONLY movie of his that I actually liked, more for the other guy (John C. Riley??) and the supporting cast.
Never did get why he is so popular..The same goes for Dan Akroyd also.

I do like Aykroyd - what was ever better than the "Bass-omatic"?
Don't see any similarity between him and Ferrell.

I think he's funny, but his humor can become too much after a while.

I can't stand Adam Sandler or Pauly Shore. Morons. Ferrell is okay, but not up to all the hype. Dan Ackroyd is an excellent actor, and a great comedian. Very talented man, IMO. Great musical tastes, too. I like Ben Stiller, Larry David, and Steve Carell, too.

And no he's not funny!

The whole Ron Burgundy thing is just painfully unfunny. Reminds of Adam Sandler humor, or Jack Black. When you don't get a laugh, just yell, shout, and repeat the same line. Millennium Generation people love that.

Two movies that Will Ferrell was ok in. "Talladega Nights" was decent, but more for the script and storyline than Will Ferrell. "Elf" was the ONLY movie that I thought he was good in. He was believable as a grown up elf.

He was good on SNL. And even though I thought the Ron Burgundy movie was stupid, I have to admit that I get a little chuckle over the Dodge commercials. Other than that, I dont think hes funny at all.

I also disagree with the majority here on Sandler. Hes funny sometimes. He's made many flops (I dont get the Grownups movies or the one where he played his twin sister), but some movies are really great to watch.

Good comedic actors would be Billy Crystal, Steve Martin and Robin Williams (all in their prime) John Candy, Chris Farley and Ben Stiller. Tom Hanks, while I wouldn't consider a comedic actor, can be very funny.

Same here,I never liked Ferrell myself. My teenage kids think he's hilarious. I think they've watched "Step Brothers" 20 times. Not a whole lot of talent out of SNL since Belushi. I thought Chris Farley was funny at times, but even that's getting to be quite a few years back.JMO

Al Franken? Is he a comedian?

My wife use to hate him and his movies, then we went to see Step Brothers, and it changed, she still isnt a huge fan, but doesnt complain when I want to go see one of his movies.

Hes a funny guy, I really think it depends on the movie he is in
