was just about to make a post commending the owner of the car in question for pulling the auction under the assumption he was not aware of the blocks true origin when he listed the car. Let's hope we saved someone from future heartache by making the information here available.

1st vs. 2nd listing:
1) Same description 2) Same 30K starting price 3) Same pictures Missing from 2nd ad: 1) Question about the WS code and EUN missing?? Bet no more questions get posted on the new listing. Do not understand this one – Starting bid is not that bad. Car looks OK. Why play games and set yourself up for issues for a possible few dollars more?

If his reserve is anywhere close to his BIN (125k), I'm pretty sure it's not going to sell either way.

I should have said Atlanta (not Arlington). Please accept my apologies for the error.
There have been numerous examples (posted on PY) of Atlanta blocks being stamped up in the location that is common for Fremont vins. Regards, Steve |

That's one of the worst fake jobs I have ever seen. Not even a casual attempt to look correct.

I made a grave mistake about ten years ago when purchasing a RA IV car. I asked the seller if the engine was numbers matching. The seller answered yes. I should have asked if it was the original block. Through years of research, I was able to determine that the engine is likely a restamp. I was told that the individual who restamped the block had a relative who worked for GM, and because of this, he was able to acquire a set of original stamps. Since I asked the wrong question, I have no legal recourse.
