I had Doug headers on a 67 RA car years ago. I had a fire when the + battery cable burned thru the insulation. I was lucky and there was VERY little damage but I could easily have torched the entire car. Off with the headers, on with factory Ram Air manifolds and never looked back. The car was just a BETTER car without all that noise, heat in the passenger compartment, hard starting when the motor was hot, impossible areas to work on and bolts working lose. Dumping those darn headers totally changed the enjoyment of the car for me. Never had a pair since then ...never will again.
