im sure this has been hashed over someplace, but what is the breakdown of 73-77 a bodies that got the gp dash? can ams of course...but the rest? thanks

I bought a 77 Grand Lemans that had the GP dash in it. It also had the Grand Prix style seats with the GP pattern.

1973: Grand Am

1974: Grand Am

1975: Grand Am, Grand LeMans

1976: Grand LeMans

1977: Grand LeMans, LeMans GT, Can Am, and the few white LeMans Sport Coupes that were destined to become Can Ams, and never made it to the conversion.

Lemans Dash 429,492

To the 165,360 would be added the 77 Lemans GT Production, and any Lemans Sport Coupe's that were not converted to Can Am's. So maybe anouther 2000 at most. And add all the GP production for those years to get a complete GP Dash production figure.

So there were Aprox 2.5 A-bodies Built with the Lemans Style Dash for every 1 Built with the GP Style dash.

You may also come across Canadian built 1977 LeMans Sport Coupes with the GP dash as it was optional, standard in Canadian Grand LeMans same as US.

Do you have an RPO number, or an order form showing this?

Not sure if this thread is still going, but for what it's worth,
my 77 Lemans GT has the GP dash - I'm currently restoring the car.
According to VVS documentation, my GT is one of 256 GT's made at GM Canada.
PHS does not know how many 77 GT's if any, were made in the US.
I believe the GT is more rare than a Can Am!?!

For 1977 WU2 GT option production is 1,914. I assume that includes Canada.
