Howdy, I am gonna post this thread to see whats out there. Anyone have an early 1965 GTO Muncie 4 speed M-20/M21 dated mid October thru mid November 1964 with good ears and in need of a rebuild or just a good used tranny? Thanks, INJUNBOY

Default 4 speed date codes

There are several links to help identify Muncie 4 speeds. I find the link below is helpful to identify Muncie 4 speeds. If the date is on the side cover, it is usually a 63-64. If it is on the edge of the case, it is for a 65. Date Code Example is P 1115 is P= Muncie Plant, and 11 = November and 15 = day of month. The Link is www.5speeds.com/muncie2.htm . Hope this helps!

Default looking for early 65 Muncie 4 speed

I can not edit my earlier thread so i will correct it by saying if the Muncie 4 speed tranny case is stamped down near the side cover/shifter area it is usually a 63-64 tranny. If it is date stamped on the vertical edge of the main case where it bolts up to tailshaft case, it is usually a 65 and up. Still looking for early 65 MUNCIE as stated in original thread posting. Thanks, INJUNBOY
