So,
Your grandson's name is Max Performance?

That is really cool.

Hope this merger means more quality made in the USA parts. Cheaper is not always better.

Thanks for saving the Forum. I think that it benefits and encourages the Pontiac hobby. A win-win for all.

Congrats on the merger. I hope both companies can flourish. I've dealt with both PY and Ames many many times over the years and found them to both be outstanding.

Talking You have removed my guilt....

Every time I looked up parts on the PY site I got quite frustrated and found it so easy over at AMES. Not that I'm currently a big buyer but I still need the odd item.

By I so enjoy the PY Forums that I get the guilts every time I abandon PY in favour of Ames.

Now I don't have to feel bad anymore. Thanks guys

Ian

This is great news. I always found myself buying my stuff at AMES due to the inferior online ordering that PY had.

And that's why PY was listening but not reacting 😜
I wish all the best to both companies, although secretly I'm a little bummed....

I hope it is an improvement. I have had a LOT of sucky experiences dealing with ignorance at Ames. They have little to no clue about full sized 60s Pontiac parts application, citing that many A body parts "will work". An improvement over PY ordering would be great, but I hope we do not get the Ames knowledge and service instead.

Undoubtedly this is a necessary evolution. Hoping for the best.

I buy parts occasionally, my most recent purchases have been through PY. An updated ordering system would be a bonus. On my last PY order, some of the parts were backordered, that wasn't clear when I ordered, and PY wanted to charge me shipping twice if they shipped the in-stock parts before the backordered parts. With shipping as expensive as it was through PY, I told them to hold the order until they had everything, but I wasn't happy about it.

The downside will be the expected tendency for prices to creep up because a competitor is no longer in the market.

Anyone have trouble in the LONG WAIT TIME on your computer to bet to this page?
The little wheel at the top of my computer spun for 2 min. till it got to this page.
I never had that problem before trying to get to the forums.

The site is definitely a lot slower. Hopefully it's temporary due to redirects on the old links and not due to switching over to a new server with less bandwidth.

Best of luck in the merger guys. Hope we see good improvements all around.

First off....hope all goes well with merger for all.
Thanks to Chris and crew and for preserving the forms.
Thanks for being a sponsor of the OPDS group. I always tried to order from PY first and then to Ames. Got to support those who support us. In honesty it seemed Ames had more stuff for the early B cars such as my 60 Ventura. Should be good for all now.
I was directed straight here without going to other link. It does take time for refresh but maybe it will improve in time when the dust settles down.

Good luck on the BIG venture...

I'll be optimistic that this will ultimately be a good thing. I, too, used to spread my business between the two in appreciation of their commitment to the hobby as Pontiac-only outfits. So life will now be simpler for me in that regard

Glad the forums were saved, too, but the refresh speed at the moment is awful. That will need to be addressed to keep the audience...

The site is very slow this morning, but I assume that's just some teething issues from the change. One other thing I noticed is on multipage discussions the 'view all' option isn't available, you still have to go from page to page.

Excellent congats on the merger!! Exciting to see a stronger group for us car nuts. This will focus the manufacturer's attention to bring those hard to find os parts into after market production. All I can say is great news and thanks for your efforts.
