Could somebody post some pics of a full size factory Manual Trans Tri Power linkage? I specifically need to see the driver side showing the return spring and exactly how it is attached at both ends. Converted mine from a 4 BBL auto and not sure I have the linkage/return spring set up correctly.

Terry - I think all of my big car tripower photos are of auto trans vehicles.

I have converted to the later style (safer) linkage but believe this to be correct after posting the same question a few months ago. 63 manual

My goof. I'm looking for photos of a '65 manual trans Tri power set up. The pics provided thus far are also very useful and appreciated.

Tom, I must be missing something. I spent a fair amount of time searching at the site you suggested, but only saw pictures of '65 GTO Tri power linkage, not full size car.

65 WJ thanks for the photo you provided. That is pretty much how I had my return spring attached, but the throttle linkage pivots on a bracket attached to the firewall and the pivot arm attached to this bracket has three holes drilled/punched in it horizontally that appear to be intended as a return spring attachment point. I moved my spring to one of these holes, with the other end attached to the small upright bracket that bolts to the intake (near the bracket for the power brake vacuum hose as shown in your photo). This removes any stress generated by the return spring tension from the throttle arm on the center carb, which seems like a good thing to do, but still not certain it's how the factory did it. My return spring is different from yours also, which appears to be the one I'm familiar with for use on GTO's. Mine has coils from end to end with no straight sections on either end as the GTO spring has. The wire diameter is much greater also. LASjayhawk, it appears you were trying to post info from a parts book, but I'm not able to access them. Nothing appears to be attached to your post.

My car ('65 Cat 2+2) is long gone, but here are pics of the OEM throttle return spring bracket. According to my research, it was the same for 4bbl and tri power cars. The illustration pic of the bracket is from page 6B-2 from my 1965 PONTIAC CHASSIS shop manual. If anyone is interested, I still have this bracket. You can simply have it for the cost of shipping.
