Problem with taillights and instrument lightning
Hi guys,
now I am back with a new problem where I think I need your help. At the last meeting I went with my 65 Grand Prix, I had the problem that the back lights and all the instrument lightning where gone ... All other lights like frontlights, direction markers, brake lights, ... are working correct?? After i turned around a bit on the rheostat all the lights came back, but after turning of the motor and restarting it, I think the lights have gone finally because I am not able to get them shining again. The thing is, I checked the fuse of the back lights and the fuse of the instrument lights and both are all right. Now I tried to get out the headlamp switch but I wasn´t able to get it out? How can I get it out without breaking something? Any ohter ideas what could be the problem? Thanks a lot, with best regards Stefan |

Pull to headlight position. Should be a push button on side of switch that you push in to release shaft as you pull it the rest of the way out. Then you take off nut holding it to dash. Look in manual for your car.

Thanks for the input, got the light switch out today.
Now I do have one more question, with the answer finding the failure would be more easy for me because the electrical plan wont give me the answer. Could somebody say me which number or which connection is which one? For example number ... is front lights, number .. is taillights and so on. Thanks a lot, Stefan |

Hey,
a short question, maybe someone could help me. Is the light switch of a 1968 firebird the same as the one in my 65 Grand Prix? Thanks Stefan |

Yes.
Heard that most of the GM cars from the mid '60s to the late '70s do have the same headlamp switch. If it had been a '68 Grand Prix, Corvette, Toronado, '67/'69 Camaro or a '68/'69 GTO, they would have been different due to the hideaway lights.

Hey,
thanks for the answer. Would be great, because I found a switch here on ebay that looks exactly like the mine and it would be here from germany. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Pontiac-Fireb...item3f419b80f8 Stefan |
