On the OO car it says "one of 295 with Ram Air III, 4-speed and A/C"
Where can you get the breakdown on option combos? Might I have a car in the low double-digits with my options? I have all the options on the Orbit Orange Judge, plus several more. Man is that a beautiful car though, wow...

I ask you Norm Warling, was your Ram Air III engine numbers matching? It did not say in the auction catalog whether it was or not.

I'm surprised at how low the bidding was on the non Judge RAIV car. $42,000 for this one and $44,000 for the Verdero Green car that went through Barrett-Jackson in January. The RAIII Judges are bringing almost 3x the money as the IV non-Judges!

John - I don't know anything about the green car at Barrett Jackson, but the brown RA4 in Denver was non numbers and needed a lot. I thought $42k was pretty fair for what it was. If it was a Judge, it would have done better. As far as RA3 Judges, driver quality examples are in the same ballpark.

My car did not have it's original engine, it does have a correct 1970 ws engine from another car.

I am not sure where the seller got his number.

Congratulations on the sale Norman. Any other projects in the works?

That number came from a document from Fred Simmonds. A board member here gave me a copy when I had my air Cond judge.

Look at the GTO Heaven site for the production numbers for 1970. The only other project I have going is a 1962 Catalina for NHRA K/SA Drag car.

One of Fred Simmonds papers from 1989 had some 70 A/C (C60 option) factoids.
Total 70 Judge with AC = 791 Total with Ram3 Manual Trans - A/C & PwrStr = 425 (all GTO / Judge) Total with Ram3 Manual Trans - A/C & Manual Steering = 60 (all GTO / Judge) So 295 might be a percentage factored of 425 units Or some rocket science mixed with algebra |

It would be statistically incorrect to derive 295 from Fred's numbers, if that's what happened. |

Think I found the 295 factoid.
Its on one of Fred's 1969 Data Documents Ram3 + Manual Trans + A/C = 295 Ram3 + Automatic + A/C = 729 These are for 1969 models. |

Well done, Sir!
I think the combo with the Judge package could be rarer than 295, FWIW. |

raiv TA
There was a 69, that was sold new in Pittsburgh area, it was, from I have heard, to have been a body swap.. it was at a Barret Jackson sale, and there was a big controversy, some yrs back.
It was found as a rough shell in late 80s, in Colorado, then made its way to San fran, where it was "restored".. UOTE=The Boss;5425588]Anyone have the vin # of the TA that sold?[/QUOTE] |
