Yes, I got them back 2 days before we left but not real thrilled, they look ok. He replaced the chrome part of the male buckles with repops that are scratched up, no clear coat protector on any of them, The gold cad didn't get replated and one of the covers had a gouge in it and 2 of the belts had a stain on them. Although he just sent them to me without payment and trusted me, he charged me $685 for them which I thought was a little steep for the quality issues. So I guess I need to call him and pay up, not sure if I should complain or just bite my tongue.

At least you got them back in time. I don't remember mine costing that much. There's not a lot of other options out there.

He wasn't discriminating by age, he was doing it by model!

My 78 TA with the T56 gets 17-19 mpg on the hwy. Around town & fun driving brings it down to the 11.5-12 area. Still not bad for that antiquated 455 mill.

Great to see all these cars being driven and enjoyed!
I'm glad you saw the plate. It spent many years on the 73 SD until it qualified for antique plates. After having that plate for so many years, I couldn't let it go, so I transferred it to the CETA. It probably draws a laugh or two, but I hope that the license plate frame helped explain it some.

Nothing overly original. It was a personalized plate (non-antique) that was on my 73 SD before the car was 25 years old. In NJ, cars older than 25 are eligible for antique plates (QQ plates) which have the secondary benefit of exempting the vehicle from the semi annual state required inspection, which the SD could bearly pass when you tuned all the power out of it, and sometimes not even then. Upon eligibility, I registered it as an antique vehicle, which required re-plating the car. Instead of letting the plates go, I transferred them to the CETA and ordered a personalized plate frame to explain it, somewhat. Anyway, it does cause an occasional conversation.

Actually, I forgot to post Larry's georgeuos '76 455 HO TA, a shot of where we parked in Tipp City before most of the Bird's arrived, and then traveling back home with a stop in Van Wert, OH and the new Shell station across from the county fairgrounds.

That 455 '76 TA was parked next to me and was really nice! Neat car for sure.

I did a write-up for the Midwest Firebirds Club that's currently on their webpage, focusing mostly on 1st Gens. I thought it was a great show, and the Birds people mentioned above were very cool indeed!

Here's a few more pics:

Birds of a Feather....

Murderer's Row.

Ok, who's the wise guy?

Carousel Red and black, always liked that combo.

Great pictures! How did the 400 pass the 455 mills? Must be the '70 has an operable shaker door opening for better air flow.
