Default Upgraded 66 Bonneville Exhaust System?

Greetings friends. I'm trying to find out is there is a pre bent dual exhaust system for the 66 Bonneville Convertible? WIth the factory 389 4bbl, and factory heads. I tried calling Pypes, but can't get anyone to answer the phone. Thanks friends. My best to you, and your families. PS: I'm also open to suggestions if no one makes a kit. Mike

I know Ram Air Restoration has a full exhaust kit.. but from the
description it sounds like they are designed to connect to RARES long
branch exhaust manifolds.. I suspect you dont want to change the
manifold but I thought it woke up my Bonneville quite a bit ( going from
logs/single exh pipe to manifolds with dual exh)

I don't think RARE makes a full kit, but do sell the tail pipes and head pipes for the long branch, I suggest checking into that.

Waldron, however, does list a full system.

To be honest though, You may be better off checking with an old time exhaust shop as the cost is likely the same and they will do the work.

FWIW, I have scanned the Pontiac sections of a '70 NAPA Exhaust Systems catalog that I found on a swap meet table for a few bucks.

Lists all the standard fitment systems for Pontiac back to the stone age.

(They used to rust out every few years or so when they were just mild steel, we are spoiled ****less now with stainless!)

Been trying to get my scans to the site moderators here they can can be posted.

Thank you friends. I talked with Paul at RARE, and he said he can make the system and I can use the factory exhaust manifolds. But then I start thinking about those long branch. And,for a few hundred dollars more.... !!!! ~

Would love to see an HPP style drag strip test of long branch manifolds vs a decent set of headers. I'll bet the the difference is practically negligible.

The gain from Long branches over logs is actually less than 10 HP - according to Pontiac/dyno test I saw.

Here is one, although this test did not use long branches specifically. Still, very interesting results.

Yep. Lot of cash for the 16 HP you could gain. If you can get the headers to fit a B body.

No kidding, I had to go with Mad Dog for headers for the round port style Eheads in my 65...but there is no round port long branch manifold that will fit a 65 B body that I'm aware of.

I thought the RAII and RAIV first gen firebird manifolds would work? I swear I have seen them run in a 66 before. Ram Air Restorations was making them and states they are still going to make them, but are having problems getting them back to market.
