I got a little bit better view of the 77-78 White Formula this weekend.
But still cannot find out who owns it yet.

Since someone mentioned 78 White could get Gold Decals - it must be a 78.
White / Gold Decals / Dark RED Interior !!!

Someone is using it as a daily driver at the nursing home where my Gmother is staying. No one at the reception desk nor any of the nursing staff I have asked know who it belongs to. So must belong to someone who works in the kitchen.

From 25 feet it shows to be factory paint / decals with advanced patina.
No rust or wrecks visible.
Correct splitters on each side.

Agree...I like them wo T-Tops like this one. . Of coarse all here know WS6 & 15x8" wheels were not available on '78 Formys, right?
IIRC - this one was either a 305 Chebby or 301 Pontiac equipped...

Default 78 Formula

Alvin-

Thanks for posting the pictures of that white/gold '78 Formula. That is awesome! The article was really cool and the engine looks like a major sleeper too!

There is a really cool article in this months Hemmings Muscle Machines called Muscle Car Scrapbook. Jay Meeks writes about how his father-in-law purchased a new 1978 Formula Firebird that was Starlight Black, W50 Gold Appearance Package with the Carmine Red interior. It had the Pontiac 400 engine too! Neat story about a man, his family and a car he loved.

It sparked a memory that I have stuck in my mind. Back in about 1983, still in high school, I saw a similar car here in the Kansas City area, on a used car lot. 1978 Formula, black, gold appearance package and if I remember correctly the deluxe red cloth interior. What I remember most is that it was a Pontiac 400, 4 speed transmission and had the 8 inch WS6 wheels on it too! I don't remember now how much they were asking for it, but it was way over what I could afford. Wow, what a beautiful car!

So, are there any out there still? Anyone have one or know of one?
78Macho, Thanks for the kind words about my Formula. I've only recently discovered this forum and I'm enjoying getting caught up. Having the Formula back after all those years has been a wonderful experience. I'm thankful for the care that the car was given by its custodians during those missing years and the respect and love they showed by keeping the records going on the car and keeping it looking so nice.

I have seen a couple of black/gold Formulas with the red interior on the Internet. The one that was for sale a couple of years ago had T-Tops and a 4-speed. It was a great looking car
Thanks again,
Jay
