speedo cable
I took out an old broken speedo cable and replaced with a 61.5 inch cable (according to Star Auto Parts) and it runs about 20 mph faster than it should and chatters sometimes. I think maybe the cable is too short. I didn't measure the old one and tossed it. ( lesson learned)
What is the correct length cable for a 455 HO 4-speed 1972 GTO? I never changed speedo gear but I think its 22 teeth. Thanks |

according to the chart in the catalog from www.amesperf.com the cable is 76", R158L. Cannt see how a short cable would give you a high reading?
