What makes you think it's a reproduction?

Looks too new, but if it's a NOS part then it isn't a repro.

Supposed to be NOS, thermostat area looks different than the reproduction ones, and the date code on the back indicates 79, service replacement maybe, just trying to confirm. Trying to decide to alter it to use with Fitech injection or leave it alone.

I've never seen a reproduction manifold with a date.

Thanks Paul, you would know. Did some searching here and found some pics of oem vs repro, looks like I do have an NOS SR manifold with a 79 date code, how late do you suppose they cast these? Are they valuable? probably shouldn't alter it.

1979 dates are the latest I've seen. I don't really know the value of them, but if you don't have a lot $$ into it I'd use it! They offer excellent performance and I believe that manifold would be a good fit on your build, and you can't beat the "cool" factor.

Looks like one I owned at one time and it too had a date code and clean casting letters and the snowflake on the intake from Winters Foundry.

Thumbs up It's definitely an NOS 1972 455HO intake

I've got three in the GM boxes with the same date code and stampings. At one point I had seven of them.....in the late 1980s.

The 485640 is the early-72 and the 488945 is late-72.

I'd go ahead and use if for your EFI project.

The REPROs that I have seen have a raised, oval area around the casting number area. VERY visibly identifiable compared to a factory casting.
