That's great. Drive it like it was meant to be driven.

I'm jealous. My 63 is parked until I get time to fool with the rear spring. I'm fighting with the upper retaining bolt that is on top of the frame. Great place to put it. I guess they didn't think you'd ever have to replace a coil spring.

Had a couple cars with that issue. Used a hole saw/drill & put a hole in the trunk floor to access the bolts. Then put a rubber plug in to cover the hole.

Well,,, Its been over 18 months since I got the 65 Grand Prix & put her in service. Did the math this morning,,, 46,295 miles in a little over 18 months! Have had her to Bakersfield Cal, LA, Flagstaff, Tucson. Albq. New Mexico, St Johns AZ,,,,, Hannagains Meadow Az at 9100 ft Altitude.. Great road car!!! She loves to cruise at 80-85 Mph. Averaging around 31,ooo miles a year on a 50 year old car.

Keith I hope this inspires more of us to drive our Freedom Machines more often and for linger distances.

Thirteen Smiles per gallon* is just the beginning...the more you drive it the more reliable it is. The more you drive it, the more you plant the seed in the minds of potential old car owners that these ARE reliable machines capable of today's driving.

I think it's great you are putting real miles on your Grand Prix. I put about 125,000 miles on my 66 Catalina 9 passenger 421 tri-power. It was the entire time my daughters were growing up over a 17 year period. They still talk about all the cool places we went in that car, both of them looking out the 3rd seat window as the miles rolled by. Pulled a 19ft old Sea Ray all over the midwerst to inland lakes with it too. Great times in that car. Enjoy yourself. Could you post a couple of recent pics?

Thanks Guys!! The car has been deadly reliable. The only thing I have done to the engine besides oil changes is a set of spark plugs when I first got her. Have done nothing since. No points, condenser, plugs,,, nothing. Leaks oil from every orifice. Need to find the time to pull engine & transmission & reseal everything. Averaging 15-16 Mpg around town. 20 23 on highway, depending on the roads & speed. Went to Albq. New Mexico a couple of weeks ago. Traffic on east bound I-40 in AZ was flowing at a steady 90 Mph!!! Tach was right dead on 3100 rpm. 2:73 gears with switch pitch converter.
