70-72 GTO Dash emblem non A/C car?
I've seen some cars and it says GTO where the center dash vent would be. I've seen others advertised as GTO's and it says Pontiac where the center vent would be.
Did GTO's come both ways? Was it this way in other years? Thanks, Mud |

'70 and '71 Factory non AC Pontiac Abodys will have a plastic dash bezel with chrome metalizing on the letters that spell out PONTIAC in the rectangular area at the top right of the bezel. Doesn't matter whether Tempest, T-37, LeMans, or GTO.
'72 Factory non AC Pontiac A-body's will have a plastic dash bezel that is blank, just the base fine pebble grain finish in the same area. If a '70-72 car has a GTO emblem anywhere on the dash bezel or the face of the dashpad or glovebox lid, someone installed it there.

Yes the 69's could have come with or without the GTO plastic emblem in the place where the A/C vent would have come out. I have seen them on Calif. cars & some Fremont cars, but I don't know where or when it was put on or if it was just something they had started & then stopped in a later production builds.

All three years have a different wood grain pattern as well.
