It's hard to predict where the power will end up. We're hoping for 2000+ There's a lot of variables that we don't have experience with....blower overdrive, fuel percentage, fuel flow, etc. And of course, there's sparse experience base for a Pontiac with this much nitro.....which is why this project is so fascinating.

Not sure how many hours it took to machine these......a bunch, for sure. The second set will go faster, now that the programming has been worked out.

How much Nitro are you going to run? 90% like the Big Dogs?
It is fantastic that you are building this project. A truly exciting Pontiac build.
A breath of fresh air considering all the bickering over the progression and addition of new heads to the Pontiac community.

Probably something like 90%.

I think it's encouraging that so many people are building Pontiac heads of so many varieties. We're moving closer to the level of choices available to the Brand C engines. The bickering serves no useful purpose; but friendly competition is good for the hobby.

Looks very promising, Eric. Was the decision to go with a square port to more closely mimic the dimensions of a Hemi port? Both Rob Bruce and the Hemi Hunter crew here back east have extensive experience running big loads of Nitro' through a wedge chambered head and making it live.

That head looks fantastic. Awesome job.
I dont think you will have any problem making 2000+ HP.

The ports are stock Ram Air V width. I researched many successful racing heads and found a pretty constant relationship between valve size and entrance area of the ports. Then I had to add in extra size to compensate for the blockage area of the pushrod tube. The resulting square port was the result of trying to get that area. The fact that it ended up looking similar to a fuel hemi port was reassuring.

After the pushrod tube, they have to do some pretty aggressive tapering. The short turn and valve bowl area got some optimization help from Bob Ingles. After we get seats and pushrod tubes installed, we'll put them on the flow bench.

Rob will be in charge of the tuneup. Look out!

Wow, that was fun looking back at that....thanks for the BTT. I think we're in the 2500+ hp range and there is definitely more in it.

Still keeping the tuneup below what it could be as we worked thru the reliability issues. Everything looked pretty good after the 6.027 run so were pretty jazzed about next year.
