Hidden AM/FM Antenna
My 67 went into the shop today for body work and paint. I am considering having the antenna hole on the front fender filled in and going with one of those interior hidden antennas. Anyone have any experiences good or bad with these?

I have one in my trunk. It is stuck uner the package tray. Not super happy with the results. I run my iphone and iheart radio most of the time while I'm in the car.

I was going to install one on my Nova but after reading the reviews went with the original rear antenna.

There is a company in Colorado that had several front windshield 's made for first gen. Firebird's and Camaro's with a built in antenna. I have their contact information somewhere if you would like it.

Do most people even listen to the FM radio anymore? Isn't that why HD FM adoption kinda failed and took so long?
I would think most are streaming from their phone (Pandora, etc). I plan on buying the BT factory reproduction radio for this reason for my 69. That said, I did an aftermarket antenna like that in my 1992 Trans Am back like 13 years ago when I replaced the windshield. It for sure was not nearly as strong reception as a good old fashioned type antenna. I'd say it reduced the range by about a third. I'll be keeping the rear power antenna on my 69 just for this reason even though I haven't listened to FM in years now.

I find it's natural to have anxiety about removing an option even if you never use it... at least that's the way I am. I can't tell you how many time I worry about not being able to do something I'd never consider. lol

Used hidden antenna from retrosound. No worky. They (retro) say you have to mount it high up to work well, but then what would be the point?

I have a hidden antenna in my convertible. Just done with a frame off restoration. It works, I've tuned in a couple stations, but am too busy with other stuff to focus on it now. I was lukewarm to the appearance of not having the antenna, but now prefer it.

A RetroSound HPA1. I have it mounted back where the top folds down.
