Both work, but when driving and I put on the turn sig. the brake lite on the other side don't come on, where would I start to look????? thanks,---BOB

COULD be a mal-adjusted turn signal switch.

Bad ground in the taillight harness. I had the same issue. Ran a new ground in the trunk and it took care of the problem.

Pretty much got to be the turn signal switch.
You can probe the wires at the harmonica connector or half moon (depending on year model) with a test light to be sure....But for both brake lights to work, untill you use the turn signal, narrows it down quite a bit. Clay

Yeah..... I have same problem..... but only on one side......
Getting the nerve up to remove steering column to perform repair.....
