Default Vinyl top molding

Can anyone help me out with how many spring clips are used for the molding? Got a kit from Ames which has 6 rail clips and 6 spring clips. I have 8 spring clip holes on each side. Not much help when I asked tech at Ames. And do the v shaped moldings only use the spring clips?

Thanks

Four clips each side. Two screws front one, one each next three so those can pivot.

Three spring clips for each V moulding, one outboard, two inboard. You can see the 1/4" holes if you look closely at the two pictures.

Hey thanks for you help...so looks like no spring clips for straight molding based on you pic? I have those 1/4" holes down the sides as well as for the v shaped molding.

I don't have the small holes for the screws...not sure if body man filled them in. Does your car have the 1/4" holes along the side?

No sir, just the small screw holes. Mine was a KC car, where was yours built?

Those may have been drilled out to be able to use the spring clips instead of the snap on clips??

Mine is a CA car. It sure looks like these are original holes, been so lone since I tore down car I don't remember how they were attached. Tried to get Ames to sell me more spring clips separate but I have to buy another kit. Have to find the remaining clips elsewhere.

FWIW...my 67 is also a Ca. car and it did not have the metal "clips" shown in Old Goat 67's photos. I assume the clips I used are the spring clips you are referring to. I don't remember how many there were but I did have to get more than came with the kit from Ames.
