Default 1970 GTO Judge PHS, RAlll, 4speed,

Folks, hopefully this posts correctly, sorry if quality of initial pics isn't great.
Will add a few more pics tonight, including interior, can add more info and pics as the 3 day rule.
PM/text/phone if you need some quick additional info, tried to capture most info in my long ad, the format didn't transfer perfect, I can email a PDF of the writeup.

1970 Pontiac GTO Judge RAlll w/ Tremec 5 speed (4 speed car)
PHS documented with partial build sheet from fuel tank
Peppergreen (Code 48 M) -- Green interior (code 256)
Location, Okotoks, Alberta, Canada
Postal Code T1S 1T7 (2 hrs from US border)
Price $52,250 USD

Selling my 70 GTO Judge after 14 years. Reason for selling is I have a burn to do another car, will be looking for a 67 GTO Hardtop, preferably Black with 4 speed, non numbers is fine.

Bought the Judge in 2004 from another PY member, in ‘survivor shape’, I’ve been adding and adding ever since. The car is in excellent driver condition, I have put ~13,000 miles on the goat, I drive it as much as I can. Mechanically sound, everything works as it should. This GTO will pass any State/Provincial safety inspection. I have owner history back to second owner in 1974, all receipts since I purchased, and a folder of receipts back to ~1982. Car was professionally appraised in June 2014, value at $71,400 USD, ($88.9 CDN), car is insured for this value. Judge is always kept in garage, under blanket for winter, trickle charger, when driven the odd Friday to work, it’s parked in underground private parkade.

This Judge is perfect for somebody who wants a correct, PHS documented Judge that can be enjoyed. Any upgrades are for driveability/safety, I strived to keep car stock-appearing. Cash and time investment far exceeds selling price. This is not a numbers matching trophy, it is a very happy Judge that loves daylight and pavement.

Car was built Jan 1970 at the Pontiac plant, sold new in Bozeman, MT, (car comes with 2 mint 1970 Montana plates) spent it’s life in South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and North Dakota, where I purchased. Ram Air 3 car, M20 4 speed, no console. Manual brakes and steering. 3.55 rear end in original housing. Hood tach, Remote trunk release, trunk light, and vanity mirror for options.

DRIVETRAIN
• Engine is 1970 Pontiac 400 SR block stamped SR81155 on front, cast July 2, 1969 with 70 Stamp, which pre-dates Jan 70 car assembly. 9799915 block code with 4 ground off with 5 stamp. 4 bolt mains. Some call this a RAlV block. Purchased block with .020 crank from PY member in Ohio, 2005. Rebuilt and assembled by D&W in Calgary in 2005. Compression at ~9.5, .040 bore, block was in great shape. 068 RA3 cam purchased from GM, stock Pontiac stamped rockers, I added allen-key nuts to prevent typical Pontiac nut ‘loosening’ and keep stock valve covers, viton rear main seal. New starter in 2016. Engine does not use oil, idle is smooth, can balance a quarter on the airpan. Engine bay is stock with correct clamps, hoses, clips, temp sender, etc.
• Petronix electronic ignition, stock appearing. Hood tach works perfect, LED bulbs light it up nice at night.
• Heads are correct #12 RAlll heads, date A239, very close to car build.
• Radiator is rebuilt Harrison, never has overheated, even in heavy summer traffic. I have been running Evans waterless coolant for last 2 years, to eliminate hose pressure and changing coolant ever.
• Professionally installed Tremec TKO 5 speed in 2015 with specific, new clutch and driveshaft. The best project I did with this car…..awesome, cabin noise dropped, 1800 RPM at 75 mph, gas mileage skyrocketed. This car did not come equipped with a console, absolutely stock appearing with stock 1970 Hurst handle with Judge Hurst handle with ‘open’ 4….not sure if that is correct or ‘closed’ 4. Reverse lights work with Tremec, LED reverse bulbs.
• I have Muncie M20 with close date code, Hurst shifter, was rebuilt in 2004, works great.
• Purchased NOS 7040263 Quadrajet (1970 manual GTO) in 2005, could not afford a 7040273 carb. Has been absolutely perfect, some float probs in 2017, just had carb professionally rebuilt, full receipt of work. Manual choke works as it should. New gas tank in 2005. Always premium fuel, always stabilizer for winter.
• Complete, correct, and functional Ram Air setup.
• Driver Ram Air exhaust manifold is correct Date coded 1970, passenger is repro. Ceramic coated, look excellent since installed in 2005, Go figure, the heat riser covers the date coded one.
• PYPES X-pipe exhaust. Ames stock tips. Had Street Pros, sounded great, but drone was terrible. Now has Dynomax VT’s, idle is perfect, sound is great at all speeds. No drone, coupled with the Tremec it makes for nice cruising.
• Power steering was installed at some time. I have upgraded with a Delphi 670 power steering box in 2016 with upgraded internals. This has totally tightened up the steering, takes away the wander with original suspension. I highly recommend this steering box, fresh alignment when installed. Steel ‘pucks’ under rear suspension to keep car rake dead flat.
• I upgraded from the front drums to disc brakes in 2016. Car is driven, it needs to stop quickly with idiots driving around with their faces buried in iphones. Rear drums replaced in 2016 after a leaking rear cylinder was found.
• 15” Rally ll rims. BF Goodrich T/A’s installed June 2015 as other T/A’s were 2002 vintage. Full Radial T/A spare. I was a bit too early before the Coker Wide Oval radials were released.

BODY
• Body is excellent, zero rust. Car was in good shape when I got it, rear quarters were wrong, they were spliced from 4 pieces, didn’t look right.
• I purchased a pair of in-box, NOS GM quarter panels in 2006. I have the GM part sticker for each side.
• In 2008, car went in for new quarters and full body resto at a small family shop. I have several pics showing the body apart. Original hood was in rough shape, I went with Dynacorn hood, cut for Ram Air and hood tach. Used original Ram Air scoops, fit is…ok.
• Repro front chin spoiler.
• Front fenders were excellent. Floors and trunk are excellent, no repairs required. New rad support installed, all required clips and brackets in place for endure and front valance.
• Body mounts replaced, rear end bushings replaced, front suspension is fresh, I hate rattles and squeaks!
• Panel fit is excellent, the endura nose fits perfect, door alignment is great. Rear bumper is very good, could be rechromed one day, no cracking, just stained and a bit tired. LED taillight bulbs increase rear visibility inside correct, non-repro stainless trim GTO light housings. Panel/door drains were sprayed with grease from bodyshop. Brightwork is very good.
• Paint is correct code 48 Peppergreen, base/clear applied fall 2009. Paint is excellent on this car. I drive the Judge every chance I get, it has seen it’s share of bugs, occasional rain, a couple of nicks and Oh-Sh*t marks. The endura nose was done with flex agent, some blemishes on it from driving. Paint adhesion is good. I would like to refinish the nose, hopefully keep the nose in place to keep alignment, these are a chore to get back on right. I have leftover paint from the bodyshop. Does not need a repaint, this summer I plan on a professional shine/polish on the paint. I wax the car every year in between hundreds of spray detailer cleans and Calif duster wipes. Phoenix decals are mint, installed using Pontiac placement docs, lime green outline on eyebrow decals is correct, vs decals you see with dark green outline.
• Belly and frame of car was scrubbed and painted black with body-on, motor-out in 2005. Holding up very well, one day will get on a hoist for a proper clean.

INTERIOR
• Restored interior. I wanted a new look vs patina. Dash was restored by Just Dashes in 2006. Wiring and gauges were restored during professional dash install. Ralley Guages work as they should, speedo is bang-on, clock has quartz kit installed, keeps time as good as my phone. LED 194 bulbs (warm yellow) installed in all gauges, greatly improve night visibility.
• PUI seat covers and door panels, dark metallic green. Restored seats and mechanics. I am not a big fan of the PUI comfortweave stamping, I purchased dark green OEM comfortweave from SMS in Oregon, have not pulled trigger to install yet. I would recommend sending the comfortweave to Legendary and have them create seats for it.
• Headliner, carpet, package tray replaced in 2008. Dynomat installed on floor under carpet.
• NOS Sport Wood steering wheel installed 2015, expensive, but big colour improvement over the Ames repro.
• I used the factory rear shoulder belt locations in the package tray and installed rear shoulder belts, so my kids can go cruising safer.
• Factory AM radio works, I installed new 10 ohm speaker. There is also a stereo/aux input installed in the glovebox, the remote control face hangs below the dash, easily tucked underneath for shows. Boxed speakers in rear window, small 4” speakers in loose, separate boxes fit under front seats, not visible and removable.
• All 4 manual window assemblies are restored and work great.
• Remote trunk release in glovebox works, horn, heat system works, vent system, lighter/12V, wipers/washer, etc.

MISC
• The car is located in Okotoks, Alberta, just outside major city Calgary.
• I have a GTO buddy in Montana, the car can be brought and stored to the Whitefish, MT area for easy inspection/export/shipping.
• I will help in any way to assist car export to USA if required.
• Weather has improved since December, I can fire it up and bring it outside on the driveway for any specific pictures.
• PHS docs and copy of appraisal can be forwarded.
• If anybody wants a big selection of pics, I can store on a memory stick and mail out.
• The local resto shop in my town completed the latest upgrades, worked on it last 4 years or so, they can provide a 3rd party recommendation.
• Phone/Text is 403-818-3195. I can exchange photos/information via email/this forum or phone.

Thanks for looking.

Brent

In the spirit of St Patrick's Day......Peppergreen 70 Judge!

Some more pics, waiting for spring.....damn snow

Just a note, this GTO can be easily brought into Montana for inspection/shipping. I am working on how I can export it with Montana plates, easier for US buyers. I don't believe this will be a problem. Great Falls, MT is a city with shipping access. Whitefish is another shipping center, I have storage close to Whitefish

Trimmed price to $48,500,

Organized car history and receipts, over 65K US invested.

Thanks for looking

Some pics I found deep in the computer, back in 2005 when the engine went in, did a clean up on the engine bay/suspension, and underneath. I had no idea the time commitment required to do this yourself, and was in way too deep to stop!! Some growing pressure from the growing family at this point....

Beautiful car!! You will probably think I'm nuts, but I wish you would have left a little snow in the driveway for those pics. I think it would have looked awesome. I was going to do it with my 70 this year, but we either had no snow, or snow and -30f. No fun at all then.

Thanks Brewster!

Here is a couple pics of the LED's in the dash, tails, and tach. (did not come out as well as I thought..)

Can't get the clock to project light as well as the speedo and gauges. I cut two small 'V's in the upper lip of the face to open it up, will have to pull it out and try another spot to get more light in there. It is so much fun trying to get that clock back in with the dash on......

About Us

The PY Online Forums is the largest online gathering of Pontiac enthusiasts anywhere in the world. Founded in 1991, it was also the first online forum for people to gather and talk about their Pontiacs. Since then, it has become the mecca of Pontiac technical data and knowledge that no other place can surpass.
