I guess it's OK. I still like GM styling over the others, but that's my opinion. I figure they'll keep adding new wrinkles until it's so crazy that they'll end up bringing back the simpler, classic style.

Oh hell is that ever fugly. I just saw a new Dodge and noticed they are moving away from the big grille. I liked the 2009-2017 Dodge. If I did not need a 3/4 ton truck, I would have a Tundra or Dodge 1/2 ton.

Most new cars and trucks are fugly and over-styled. I've always been a fan of simple, clean lines. I imagine they'll come back in style eventually.

At first look, I don't like the styling at all. That being said, I remember thinking the first Dodge restyle in the 90's was just terrible. Then after a couple years, I began to like them. Tastes do change over time. The more frightening thing about these new trucks is the absolutely crazy prices. They kept talking about how base and WT this truck is. I can virtually guarantee you that truck in a two wheel drive, with steel wheels, cloth seats and a V-6 will still be well over 30K, and that's just criminal.

That grill really is in your face. I could see why a lot of people would like it. Heaven forbid that they make it small again before your lease is up.

Cool

I'm glad I bought my 2017. Hopefully GM will have a mid-cycle refresh that will make me want a newer one. If not, I'm content with this one.

What's that sitting behind it, which apparently does not warrant an honorable mention...

That's my '72 Cheyenne Super with 402/TH400. Back from a time when men were men, and women were proud of it!

The GMC is downright handsome compared to THIS:

There is not one thing remotely attractive about the Silverado, especially in W/T trim. It is absolutely awful looking in every way imaginable. Apparently, the stylists from Toyota Tundra team needed a job, and came up with this.

That horrendous, big ugly black plastic grille just screams "low budget".

For the amount of money people spend on new garbage, you could bave a VERY nice old truck like this. Even with a modern drivetrain swap and more modern suspension if you wanted to go that route, and you'd have a hell of a cool truck that is actually worth owning, and an appreciating asset to boot. But people seem to love their new garbage. I don't get it.

That's a great Cheyenne you got there.

Thank you. That is my trusty workhorse. The Sierra I have is handy, but if there are jobs that I need to haul scrap or garbage, I use the '72. It has never let me down!

I find the Sierra more comfortable, in addition to the added technology. The '67-'72 cabs are tiny, and only offer generous hip room. If I didn't have factory tilt in the '72, it would be quite awkward to drive.

The '72 is a nicely sized truck overall. These new trucks have grown to epic proportions.

I'd take that 72 any day of the week!! That said, I have a bare bones 2012 Ram express that I like quite a bit and was reasonably priced when new.

I think all these American trucks are overpriced by atleast 10k. They all have huge discounts trying to make people think they are getting a great deal. I think that's their marketing plan, jack the price and make people think they are buying a 40k truck for 30k when it's a 25k truck to begin with. If I ever need a 250 up truck, I'm not sure what I would buy. The 1/2 ton trucks all now tow plenty of weight.

Time will tell how this new generation of supposedly heavier duty half tons will stand the test of time with real use. Lighter weight bodies with smaller turbocharged V6 engines (Fords at least) pulling more weight than ever? I don't see those trucks holding up near as well as a comparable truck with a naturally aspirated V8.

I hated the 'mad bulldog' look and excessive bulk of the new Tundras and other pickups enough to search for a nice first generation Tundra. I ended up with an '05 4x4 with 60k miles on it in cherry condition for less than 15k. It does everything well, has a ton of power with the 4.7 Lexus based engine, and is the same physical size (but with much better seating) as the new Tacoma. I like the mild, clean styling of the older trucks, as well as their usable size off-road.

Agreed - In the market for a new 2500HD myself. The price tags though... Denalis, 72 K for some, 56K+ for SLTs.. 99k for that pickup above? Really? There is no way I'm paying that much when half the vehicle is an empty bed, I dont care how much leather there is, or how many speakers it has. Who spends 99 K on a pickup?

My 03 has been good to me. Doesn't owe me anything and always answered the call. Time to upgrade. Would like a new 2017 in Pepperdust if anyone knows of any floating around. (Few in MO, but no MA emissions on them, or else one would be on its way.). Will probably end up with an '18 in Dark Slate, because I definitely don't want the '19 redesign.
