Default Ram Air IV Intake Color

Hi,

I was wondering what colour one would paint a ram air IV manifold when restoring it?

I don't have one but always liked that grey colour.

Oh, I just blasted my performer rpm intake to remove the metallic blue and thought it would be cool to have that "color". I suppose it can't be done now.

Well if you blasted your RPM intake, then you have that exact color. Natural aluminum.

I can't remember the term used, but there are companies that clean and then treat the bare aluminum intakes, transmission cases, etc. so that gas and other fluids won't seep into the pores of the metal. If you sandblast or glassbead you open up the pores and without this treatment they will soak up grease and gas and you'll have a mess on your hands if you drive it.

I think they refer to that as "reskinning" the aluminum.
I had Jerry MacNeish do my 69 Z/28 intake and it looked fantastic when done
