Default I completed the set !

Well today i picked up 1964 B Body #4..

So I am proud to say.. I almost got EXACTLY what I wanted.. and here it not
even being Christmas...

I own a Bonne Convertible.. a GP Coupe, and a StarChief Sedan.. so
what was I missing ? a Catalina.. and what kind ? a LONGTOP..

I picked one up today... Alas,, only a 2 row.. but good enough. I spent
the 70s in those 3rd row seats ( being the 4th kid) and desperately wanted
a 3 row.. but either are rare enough to be worth it.

It has a running 1963 389.. the prev owner tried to install a T400 that turned
out to be bad.. but it has the starter adapter plate for the 63 block..
so bad transmission but the engine ran..

1964 Cat Safari 2335
non orig 389
bad T400.. I have a working 200r4 to throw in it..
code on Diff Case......... L2 ............... 2.69 POSI ( unknown if still POSI)

Alamo Biege
Saddle Int.
4th week April - KC plant..

Also got a 64 Tripower intake.. and a 64 Cast Iron tranny bell housing..
(looked right at a glance but didnt really examine)

Now just counting the time until I can take a pic of all of them together..

Cool car! I thought about trying to do that with '61 Bonnevilles - at one time or another I've owned a convertible, a four door hardtop and a two door hardtop, but never a wagon.

Awesome - I'd love to have a wagon to go with my '64 Bonne coupe

Pretty clean looking find, tharkun8! You said it has a '63 389 in it, but it must have the accessory drive belt set up of a '64. I may be wrong, but I thought the '63 had the alternate on the passenger side. Good luck with your wagon and hope you enjoy it!

Thanks AZ and all..

Well this was the fickle finger of fate striking again...

I joked a few months ago that with a 64 Bonn vert, Gprix, Schief sedan that all i needed was a Cat 3 Row SW for the whole set..
You see these rarely and usually far away and pricey .. the last one was a few weeks ago in Idaho .. called my friend and said "Road trip to Idaho ?" but I was completely joking..

A week and a half later this one shows up locally in my price range with a running engine and solid body. .. also already has a tow rig attached..

The sale went down so fast I bought it without seeing the PHS. It first appeared on the Denver CL on Monday 3rd.. hemmed and hawed for a few days...
( Do I REALLY need this ? Do you want to wait for a 3 row ? If I pass on it when might I see another..etc)

I first called on it last Thurs night.. got the VIN after business hours on Friday.. went and looked at it Saturday morning and picked it up and relocated it on Sunday.

I ordered the PHS yesterday ( 10th) so it will be interesting to see what other
surprises might be there other then a POSI rear end..

It was probably a 26K 389 originally but if it came with a 421 or a Tripower
that would be awesome.. ( other then now being required to find replacements)

John

P.S. AZ cant say about the accessory setup.. I know its the correct setup for 64s but never actually bothered to check
if 63s were different.. I have about 30 other things to do on my other cars before i ever get to this one.. but its sitting with
my Starchief so its not lonely..
