Default Tranny, what did I break this time?

Well, true to form, I did my every other year transmission break. Racing tonight in the hard tire finals, something let go in the tranny. The car does not have reverse or neutral. I had a few guys try to help me push it back on the trailer a bit but all they did was elevate the front end. I will have to pull the driveshaft in order to get it off the trailer. Any thoughts? Tranny is a RVB TH400.

No idea from me since a RVB was installed. Anything from a Gasket leak to hard part failure.

I called the tranny builder today, he "suspects" I melted the clutches together. Thinking about it, I wonder if I hurt it during my by-run. It was getting pretty cold and I decided to launch the car in 2nd on nitrous for the first time. Quite honestly, I didn't realize I had a problem until trying to load up and I have no reverse or neutral. I had to pull the car awfully far forward to get it straight w/o reverse, taking it off the trailer is going to be a whole lotta fun...

Smell the fluid on the dip stick. If clutches/steels are welding to one another, it should smell pretty burnt.

Once, I broke a pump sealing ring and did not realize it. Just a 1/4" piece. Trans seemed OK. But the first time I tried to do a burnout on the line I melted the front clutch pack into a sagging heap. It smelled discussing, worse than burnt. It was so bad I did not want to deal with that section. Grabbed another out of a spare trans and used it.
Also, last time I drank a beer and worked on my car.

69Camarox was the winner/correct. I did trash the planetary gearset, makes for a nice conversation piece...

It was a 2.74 1st gear which I understand are weaker. I launched the car on the bottle in 2nd gear by mistake (ratchet shifter).
