Default '64 Custom Spinner Wheel Cover Restoration

Searched and found hubcaps.com but they lost their long time expert hubcap restoration guy a couple years ago and no longer restore wheel covers.

Anybody recommend somebody that does nice work at a reasonable price?

My set has typical dings and curb rash.

The Finishing Touch Inc. does do them but I have no real experience with them or do I know what it costs. You will need to talk to them and decide if it is for you.

I got a price from them last month for my 65 spinner hub caps. $4,000.00 for a set of 4. My caps were not trashed, only dings and scratches. I'm sticking with poverty caps. Way to much money.

Problem after all imperfections are fixed , they ding easier when installing them as the metal in the repaired areas is now thinner . I have been seen some repairs on the 64 spinner where they have not removed the rear perimeter ring & actually drill holes into the rear steel lock ring to gain access to work the dings out & that actually weakens the locking areas / flex.

Scott used The Finishing Touch. Decent shape going in - like new (better than?) coming out - and have held-up great 10 years on ...

Vintage Vehicles in Wautoma, WI has done some '64 spinner wheel cover restorations. They do very meticulous work. I'll find out what the price tag is.

I just came home from a visit to The Finishing Touch Inc to restore my "64 spinner caps. They have the normal couple of dings and dents and some minor scratches. They quoted me $2000. I'm sticking with the dog dishes-

Emailed Vintage Vehicles and another place looking for estimates.

I will try to find a local stainless polishing shop and hear what they have to say also.

I'll polish them myself as best I can and just use them if they can't be restored for a lot less. Isn't gonna work for me at $2000.

What plating was used on the spinner itself? It is potmetal, right?

Chrome, just like the hood scoops, tail light housings, and other pot metal.... Then the inlaid letters are black.
