Default 1973 Trans Am

Not my car, posting this for the owner here in the Dallas area. He has owned the car for around 20 years and believes he is the 2nd or 3rd owner. This was originally a code 48 - Brewster Green Trans Am, now painted Buccaneer Red. Interior is code 551 Deluxe Beige Cloth/Vinyl that was converted long ago to a red-beige combination using the original cloth/vinyl. It is a documented column shift with no console and no hood bird car. It's a presentable car that is running and driving with solid body and no signs of rust above or below though I was looking at it on a day when it was raining and I was dressed for work so only got to peak at the underbody, didn't get to drive it. Looked like a typical N. Texas car that has been indoors as they don't rust much here unless left outside. Engine is YA code 455 (unitized block code) and I could not see the VIN due to hoses on my quick look but he says he has verified it was the original motor and he and his mechanic have verified the stampings. Not sure about the trans being original or not. Comes with rally II's and a set of honeycombs and some new parts he has stored. Body panels line up well and paint still looks good for it's age, no bubbling anywhere that I could see, trunk is solid and original looking spatter in place. I'll post pics here that include the PHS and Data Tag. Would be a great color combination in the Brewster Green and Beige Custom cloth in my opinion. I don't have the time/space right now or I would buy it. He is wanting about $16k for the car. Here is his contact info. Dan at 214-533-1539, car is stored right next to Love Field in Dallas.

That shouldn't last long. As stated, it would be a great color combo if put back to original.

I agree, I've looked at a couple in Brewster with the Deluxe beige cloth combo and it compliments the green well, the hood bird delete is actually nice too. I think the car is a good candidate for a driving type of restoration to just work on one area at a time without being off the road for years.

Are those seat covers reproduced in that color?

Legendary lists them but have not seen a sample or example in a car to know if they are even close to correct

Legendary lists them, and iirc they source the material from SMS in Oregon;
When I was last there (SMS), it was to purchase the cloth and cordouroy for that same code interior for my (former) '73 Formula - so I'd wager Legendary can do it.
This is a seriously awesome interior...

This would be a neat car to do up right, and see people scratching their head at seeing it at a show...

little wonder - that car was in my opinion a GREAT deal;
I shared it with servant people who are either not on here, or not regular lurkers.
