Yeah, I'm still out here, and still have my '68 vert. I've been building a brand-X '55 short bed truck for a few years. It could have had a Pontiac V8 from the factory but it didn't, so you should be able to figure out what brand it is!

Actually, it's a Chevy. I was mistaken in thinking the 287 came in the Chevy. That was the 265 mouse motor. My bad. Here's a picture of the chassis. The chassis is truck. Everything else is Heinz 57...

Dumb question, but is the 1969 Assembly manual the manual that I need for my '68 or is there a 1968 specific assembly manual?
Where is a good place to get one of these assembly manuals. I went through ebay and google and came up short. Thanks all!

The '68 assembly manual is not available from any known source. The '69 is as close as you'll get. On the plus side, there are a number of pages in the '69 manual that actually show the '68 in the drawings.

Definitely a BIG THANK YOU, Bob. I got my manual from Ames per your advice and have now printed out your index. What an amazing labor of (Pontiac) love your index is. Greg definitely said it all. Appreciate it!

btw, if you choose to upgrade to the better quality blue page version of the repro assembly manual don't through the older white version out as the blue version is missing many pages. I collated them together, easily 10 percent of the pages were MIA on the new version (plus a bunch of pages in the new version missing from the old as well)

They are probably from different sources so each original source may be incomplete and so few (if any) originals still exist
