That sunroof is a very cool option.

Ironically "the purists" just couldn't come to terms on the "authenticity" of the sunroof. "One of one" just didn't resonate very well those critics and the car was never given it's rightful acclaim. Anyway, the guys at Wing did it up right. .

What is its rightful acclaim?

He's also got a white 73 SD for sale on eBay. Looks like the premium for a sunroof is $20K.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/jmnsd/m.htm...p2047675.l2562 The red car is beautiful. Saw it at MCACN and it was stunning. The color seemed a little wonky though. Seemed closer to a cardinal red than buc red. Maybe it was just the lights... |

Ironically, I had the chance to buy the white car before I bought the sunroof car. The white one was in Houston and at the time was priced a little higher than I could pay at the time so I bought the red one instead. This was back in '98. Both me and Mike Pergande knew the owner.

Maybe it was changed early on. Can understand why it was changed to Black - if same car. 20k gets RED instead (for the Red fans) plus AC , Hcombs and Black Carpet with Electric Sliding Sunroof I think the sunroof is a break even deal Wouldn't have stopped me from buying it back at yesteryears price. At 279k - i don't think it really matters either. Car has found a home with current owner at his price-point. Last edited by Baron Von Zeppelin; 10-17-2018 at 04:43 PM. |

Nope the white car had red carpet as factory. The car had been around the Houston area for years before John bought it and had the restoration done.

Then there must be two of them.
The black carpet picture is the mag car from around twenty plus years ago. Red carpet picture is from current eBay listing. Almost exact same angle [interior] by coincidence. Also have this vintage one from the same day. |

One of them posed nude for Playboy back in the 70's
is the rumor And supposed to be a swanky home video of a rusty Green car doing it with a restored Red car I don't wanna see it though. Supposedly the VIN's are blurred out so you can't tell for sure whose cars they were. thank goodness |

Anyone remeber this or owned it previously in the 70's. Hood emblem must have a story. Has been in Australia since early 80's also. Was last seen 2015.

OK, I'm gonna show my ignorance here. A few days ago I was buying a few parts from a guy and he claimed he had an NOS SD oil pan. Is there a difference in standard 455 and SD 455? The GM sticker has seen better days with no numbers remaining.
