So it's just a billet copy of their other blocks? No priority main oiling, skirts and cross bolts , thicker main webbing?? Genious.. however, its probably outside of their ability to start from scratch...I understand they are comfortable just coping stuff...

They made the first billet Pontiac block I know of. J Butler mentioned Rodney going up to KRE years ago to check one out.
And it has been a LONG time since I spoke to Jim. I think it was well before any of the cast aluminum aftermarket blocks came out.
Skirts/cross bolts and priority mains would be nice.

I wonder if the 2 LSM blocks have priority main oiling ?

Looks like someone with deep pockets is having some Pontiac fun on a serious level.
What's his plans on a class to run in?

I'd be curious to know what enhancements that this block has.....without the usual internet p*ssing contest that typically follows. PM me if it's not going to be discussed here.

If memory serves me, the original Kauffman billet block was built for Bill Mellott's GTO? GtoGeorge or Big Brian442 to confirm? Is this one the same or similar?

Thanks,
Eric

I have no clue who runs what block, I'm assuming that Jeff & Mark probably run Billet, Bill was a little while ago so maybe not.

I have not seen any details about this build, Just what has been posted on Facebook. Would be best to talk to Kaufffman's or Tommy Youman the owner.

I knew nothing of this build until you posted it.
Anything you infer is merely a assumption on your part. Nothing more.

Now back to the thread. I too am interested in if the block has any upgrades vs being exactly like their iron block just in billet aluminum.
At any rate there are now at least 3 solid blocks for this sort of thing. This one, IA2 solid and the LSM blocks. Good thing right George ?

Call KRE and ask, please report back with your findings.

I would say only one person in this conversation would ever actually buy a billet block. The rest are sexual intellectuals. It gives your keyboard some exercise though

I need a stud girdle for a build, called Jeff about them and asked about the TT engine.
The blocks are about 10K. Which is not bad for what you get IMO. It made more power than expected and some was left on the table. Suggested they need to get the power they had on the ground which won,t be easy. Car was built for a drag radial class and the tires are not huge. Car is not all that light either, 3000+. Said they have the ability to get a very big MPH if they get it right.
The oiling system has been modified some but is still a Pontiac oiling system. Asked about cross-bolted mains and he said they could do it but have not seen a need for it yet.
Jeff said it just has a huge amount of power and everything will have to be perfect to make it all work. Always been honest and not held anything back when asked questions.
Hey if those LSM blocks did not work out it sure looks like KRE can make them. They are proven and can have the Hemi mains if wanted.
