Not Mine - For Sale - '70 GT-37 Coupe 400/4-Speed
Interesting car for sale. It was born Sierra Yellow with a 400/4-speed. Bench has been replaced with buckets, and now has a non-original drivetrain.
https://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/d...951061520.html From the ad: "1970 PONTIAC TEMPEST GT-37 400 4 speed Pillar POST - ULTRA RARE Authentic PHS documented car! Correct 1970 type WT block for manual shift car. Borg Warner Super T-10 trans (1977) and 12 Bolt POSI from 1968 Chevelle. This Very Solid Iowa car with engine completely rebuilt +.040 pistons, Ram Air III cam, 1970 #15 heads. Ram Air / HO cast iron exhaust headers with new Magnaflow exhaust. Old bodywork and bubbles breaking through on fenders, and holes opened on bottom edges of rear quarters. Has temporary patch pans in two spots in floor, and will need 1 small trunk patch. Interior very nice, newly upholstered black GM Strato buckets, and carpet kit with original interior, back seat mint, panels good. Car has been gone through extensively in past 5 seasons, and is excellent runner and driver - take anywhere. This car gets as many looks as a Ferrari! This car has VERY solid frame, and was factory undercoated, it is NOT a rust -bucket. GOT a nice GTO? Why not get a GT-37 driver that is fast as your Ram Air Goat? 1425 of these cars were built in 1970, and over 80% were 350 Auto cars. Only 80 or 100 cars were built with 400 4 - speeds. RARE RARE RARE !!!!"

huh, maybe GT-37's are raising in value faster than most;
$6,200 six years ago, to $18,000 now. That might seem like a pretty good return on investment... especially for an non-original car!? "correct 1970 type WT engine" "borg warner ST-10 (1977)" "12 bolt form a 1968 Chevelle" "number 15 heads" That leaves me wondering what all IS correct for the car. Still a pretty neat vehicle, much stealthier than a GTO

Looked over this 70 1/2 GT-37 last August at MuscleCar Classic XXXI. Knew it was the same GT-37 as posted up for sale on MN Craigslist in 2012, as it was noted as a 400 4spd car & I spotted the Sierra yellow paint codes. Also noted quite a few things that needed attention or were just flat out wrong. Just my opinion, but felt the owner could have spent some money & effort into having a relatively easy to find split bench seat locally reupholstered in the correct black vinyl. The addition of strato bucket seats & not repairing the lower 1/4's hold this car way back. At least the GT-37 emblem is out of the grille.

I talked to him after seeing the car on YouTube. I also remember it being discussed here. He asked me what I thought it was worth in 2015 and I told him based on his discussion of the condition with me about 10k, that was not the number he wanted to hear and never talked to me about it again. He has deleted his YouTube page since then.

I think that’s a fair estimate. Everything that made that car valuable is not original, and it needs a ton of work. Super cool configuration as-born though! 400/4-speed Post Coupe... that’s as cool as it gets in my book. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
