70 TA. Ebay price
Surprised to see the TA from fast lane classics, which appeared fairly decent and original, plus had original papers and protect o plate etc only bid to $30,500. I would have expected more like $50,000 or am I missing something?
(Don’t know how to post the listing) It ended mid day today.

thanks!
the documentation for that car looks great! It's a good thing they had a reserve on it; I wonder if the faded decals, faded dash pad, (cut dash for) aftermarket radio all hurt interest... Personally the TH400 & A/C are turn offs, but I understand that many unlike myself prefer to have these options.

Interesting muffler arrangement, too.
Outside of a few mods/"updates", that's a very nice original car. Agreed it seems like it should bring more than the $30K bid. My guess is it's been listed a few times, and/or the serious potential bidders already know the seller's reserve is higher than they are willing to pay, so they don't bother bidding.

if the owner reads this, maybe they should try the new hemmings listings:

Probably mostly "sport-bidders" , and along the lines Keith K mentioned.
It's a great car and I'd love to own it , and make a few small improvements. Option content almost identical to what a good friend owned in the 80's. Anyone ever seen a 70 TA with factory cruise control ? I haven't , just wondering |

I like the green dash with blue add-ons, kinda countryside with blue sky....seller doesn't accept messages, rules out many potential bidders and questions.

Hard to imagine even a wholesale price for that car being under 45K.
Odd dash: isn't that aging with the greening?

Yeh, the bright blue 70 stuff can take on many hues with age.
Would be the very first thing i'd have to address on that car. Then some wings-up floor mats then a full tank of gas Most of the other items are live-able, with a reflecting price Too much perfection can make them less drive-able / enjoyable. |

Yup, I've seen it on other cars before, the unique 1970 metallic blue ages funnier than other interior colours.
To build upon 'bird's pricing question: Am I the only one who thinks that $40k for an automatic 70-72 TA that is nice, solid and complete, but needing some work should be about the norm? I'd digress that premiums would be demanded for any of the following: - 1970 RAIV - four speed cars - any cars being freshly/properly restored - a gorgeous survivor I recognize that there is a price gap between the '70 Formula, and '70 TA (and a parallel one for 71-72 Formula 455HO's and their Trans Am counterparts), but that the gap has been diminishing; It seems to me that the automatic cars are generally the cheapest of both models, and that the nicest Formulas garner about what a nice solid/complete (but needing some details fixed) TA's get; EG: nicely restored Formula might get $40k if it has the third pedal or RA, while a TA like this one should be about $40k. ... am I really that far off? Suggesting that this car should get $70k seems silly to me, and I am glad to read that I am not the only one to have thought this. I am also the very last person to understand the frenzied(?) bidding on 77-79 SE TA's... sure they're cool, but I'd rather a single headlight car any day of the week... the older the better.

I agree.. That's a 40k car on a good day. On the 77-79 SE cars... too many little boys want to be the bandit...
