RA V Carb
There's a ad on Orlando Craigslist for a RA V Holley carb. Not mine just wondering if that's the right number and if it's real.

I have always wondered if the 303 motors got the same size 800 cfm Carb as the 400s?

This carb may be owned by a gentleman I spoke to a while back that has some pretty rare Pontiac stuff. The ad for the carb shows phone number 989/244-6324 if anybody is interested.

Essentially they aren't really much different than the 780 4053 carbs on the little Chevrolet 302's, which are also often referred to as 800 cfm carbs. I'd bet same diameter throttle blades, bore and base plate. Very surprised it doesn't have downleg boosters though. All the 4053 DZ carbs have downleg boosters. |

the 400s do,maybe the 303 with the 320 CFM heads needed some help? The 400s were said to be 780s.Tom

Ah yep could be Tom, I forgot about the baseball sized ports. Different list number could account for the straight leg boosters.

If this helps any. The article states, ".....is a new 800-CFM Holley which has the flow rating of the single four-barrel 396/375 and 427/425 hp Chevys."
I have a 396 Holley and it is the 780-CFM carb that was very popular back in the day. |

Yep Jim, that's what I was eluding to earlier. Those 780's for the Chevrolets were often referred to as 800 cfm carbs in a lot of literature throughout the decades. So there is a lot of confusion there. People still today refer to them as 800's.
