Default Home quarantine = home projects

Let’s SEE yours. These raised beds are made out of fiberglass grate material. Raised beds project continued.....we have a giant top soil mound on our property, I hauled soil in the gator, he used the Case. Beds filled, adding soil enrichers next. Cow manure and mushroom soil. Filled in around beds, planted grass seed. Next up get the plants. It was REALLY hard to pull him out of the shop to get this done lol. 😝 however......happy Wife....happy life! 😉

It looks as if she'll need to boil it a while to achieve any tenderness.

I have been working through this mess, so no more time than usual, but my wife has been off for a couple of months now. She was out in the yard the last few days cleaning stuff, rearranging the gardens, sprucing things up a bit. All flower stuff, no veggies.

Lol actually David, the previous owner here, wanted to sell off lots, and had 3 big mounds of dirt brought in for drip mound sewage systems, turned out the township shot him down, and the soil was to good for these systems. Not enough sand and stone in it. So he decided to sell. We happened along, and bought this place. 10+ acres here. We found out the newest drip system, will now allow us to sell off one 1 acre lot should we want to, because the soil is now acceptable. not sure we’ll do that, unless my Daughter is interested.

Oh, very timely, just got our raised gardens built last week (100 gal watering troughs) and have 20 tons of top soil coming like right this moment.

It was, but where those boxes are set was our old garden. The hay fields behind it has so many weed seeds that we couldn’t keep them out of the garden in the ground, and they chocked out our garden, so decided to go with a couple raised beds. Easier to manage. We have a lot of thistle and saw grass, so hopefully this will work better for us.

Pandemic hasn’t slowed me down. Besides still working full time I’m renovating (or rebuilding) a rental property. Got it dirt cheap, one thing leads to another, and I probably should have just tore it down and rebuilt! Would have been easier!
Not much left from when I bought it except a few wall sections, most floor joists, furnace, water heater and foundation.

Almost finished... elevated beds were made with used garage door panels and the 8-ft fence was the only hope to keep the deer out. Working now to finish the arbor and make it feel a little less like a prison camp. Plan to cover the ground with playground wood chips.

My neighbor was nice and lent me his tractor to fill the containers with soil before I built the fence. I have tractor envy!

Planted vegetables about a week ago... May 8 is average last frost day here. We have never had a "real" vegetable garden before so this is fun so far.

Nice!^^
I scratched a little 80 sq ft vegetable and herb garden for my wife. Nothing near as fancy as you guys but she's enjoying it. If she does well with it and we can keep the critters out, maybe go bit bigger in the fall.

Yeah, I had never seen this fencing. Was going to sink some posts, pull some wire fence and yada yada. This stuff made it a breeze. Just 'nail' the 'posts' into the ground. The only place I found it was at Lowe's and Menard's....which we don't have down here. What's cool about it is that you can add on to it easily or just take it completely down and move it any time.
