Triple turquoise...does that mean that the convertible top was turquoise also?

Cool Keith
Yes that would have been the same car. Greensboro is my hometown, the convention motto was "Come out to the Sticks in 86" He had it, and a 68 RamAir1 4spd Bronze/Parchment/White BirdVert there. High Point was just the next town over from GSO, where John lived. He bought that Turquoise Vert for cheap somewhere - non running - turned out it just needed a new timing chain gear set. Ran like New again. In 1987 He wanted 12,500 for the Turq car (ungodly in 1987) The Bronze Vert was fresh restored and he wanted 10,500 for it. I thought he had the prices backwards, he said no they were correct. I had 8k to spend on a dream car (that would buy a helluva car back then) , but that wouldn't do the trick on that car. By the following weekend both cars had sold. I have seen the Bronze car a few times afterwards, but never the Turq car. He wheeled and dealed as a hobby, was VicePres of a Utility Company Flipped super nice ultra rare muscle cars like coins in a fountain. He kept the pair of BirdVerts longer than anything else, was real proud of that pair. |

well ... pontiac probably called the interior and top color something else besides turquoise - but everything was color keyed and went together like a centerfold model in a string bikini. Prettiest car i have ever seen It was the Bo Derek/Raquel Welch/Marilyn Monroe of Firebirds and it was Loaded like a Cadillac [edit] AND Soft-Ray Bird Glass !! blending in with all the Turquoise it was F'ing Killerrrrrrrrrrr Last edited by Baron Von Zeppelin; 05-22-2020 at 02:15 AM. |
