Since our friend Bob no longer owns this Formula
lets hear some guesstimates on what it should and/or will bring at Mecum i think Bob had about $347,009.12 invested in it |

Just look at that chrome hurst shifter, and defrost switch! But it’s the top 72 HO Formula in all categories! a special color being Black on Black, loaded with options, with the goodies being 455HO, 4 speed, posi, handling, honeys, deluxe with formula wheel... 1 of 82 Pontiac’s muscle sports car, with performance. Collector Museum quality 6 figures or someone steals it?

besides being the "highest octane known to exist" made ;-) I got a kick out of the "original sheet metal" too.
Doesn't the seller have any idea what went into making that car so perfect? |

Just this thread alone would beyond a doubt prove everything put into this car for any potential owner; This thread is some serious documentation! I am still surprised that Bob let it go. I expected that with all the work put into it, that he'd want to enjoy it!?

I think its definitely the top dog #1 "Formula Hooded" car of all time.
Thats a big statement because we all know there are some really kick ass cars still in existence within that category. It's actually my top pick of all cars built in 1972, if they were all Free - just pick 1 out loose guessing in a Perfect Storm of bidder prospects = 111,000 CoVid19 Rehab Mecum = 88-91k eBay = 72-75k PY Peanut Gallery/non-potential buyers = 45k with a full tank of highest octane known to exist Bring-A-Trailer = 185,000 Last edited by Baron Von Zeppelin; 06-19-2020 at 11:45 AM. |

This beauty sells for 120K plus buyers premium or the bid goes on. From a Museum perspective, it is Not Replaceable.. Few parts in there I am pretty proud of !!!!!

It will be interesting to see what it bids to and at what price the seller is willing to cut it loose. Even in the perfect storm range he’ll be losing a big chunk of change and if the reserve get’s lifted in the CoVid range I will be tempted to try to buy it back. |

Bob, congrats on the sale of this car. IMHO, all the bragging rights belong to you because you and MPD are the ones who created the car we now see and appreciate as the king of the hill.
Can’t wait to follow your next thread when you find and create your next example of Poncho Perfection. BJ

Here's a fixer-upper for Bob. It belongs to a friend of mine. It's rough, and the engine and trans are missing, but it's a real X-code, 72 Formula 455HO. Sundance Orange with deluxe covert interior, and 28 options on the PHS.
