Exhaust. Manifolds
I have an original set that I was going to sell and the heat up flapper and spring and all still looks good from the outside. The valve itself inside is gone but it all looks totally good from the outside.
My question is if it is more collectable( and worth more) because a collector would want it for a stock restoration or no difference with or without the flapper valve? My thought was that it would be more desirable to a pure stock collector. Robert

I removed the flapper from a LongBranch...affected value in theory. No affect in value in practice.

More value if the flapper valve is complete, intact and working.
Having the outer pieces is definitely better than welded-up holes, so your manifold has some additional value. Visually it is correct.
A 'concours-type' restoration would be better off sourcing a completely original (with entire flapper intact and moveable) exhaust manifold. Good luck! |
