Anybody sitting on some heads for my 455 build?
Hi everybody! Building a 455 to run on pump gas for my 69 bird. I plan to run a 66 tri power and gran prix long tube iron manifolds. So that’s my limitation as far as HP. I have some 16 heads that will need all the upgrades for Modern fuel. But I’m curious what’s out there ready to go. So all that being said anybody sitting on some already done pump gas heads? Iron or alloy is ok. Used Edelbrock or Kauffman ?

Use them, there perfect. 9.5 compression unleaded pump gas ready. Just make sure they have hardend seats on the exhaust valves.

There are plenty of 6X heads out there. I even have 3 sets of cores, myself. But shipping heavy iron heads ain't cheap.
And if I had to take 'em apart & have 'em checked for cracks, etc, I'd have to charge more than anybody would pay. So you need to buy from somebody within driving distance, IMO. |

Do you still have the Judge? Any pictures?

Yes I still have the Judge. Just got finished with my machine work. The Judge should see the road for the first time since 1986. I can hardly wait. I will have photos of the build as it progresses.
Thanks Jimmy

How do those 488 behave on the street.? |

Thanks for asking. I catch a lot of heat on the forum and from other Pontiac diehards that want to argue about the 4.88 gears and whether or not it ever happened. I can’t verify if it did or didn’t, all I can say is that my build sheet said it did, and the car does have a 12 bolt gm rear end in it with 4.88 gears. The original block was not in the car when I purchased it back in 2011, but I did speak with the original owner and second owner of the car, and they both told me they blew the original motor up while racing the car in the early 70’s. So to answer your question, I really don’t know how it feels on the street, but I do know what 4.10’s feel like. 😎

Have a set of 4x heads ready to go. Low miles on rebuild. These are the larger chamber offerings.
In NJ. 700 obo + the ride. Ride will be at least 150. |
