Another Mystery Parts ID Post
I'm sorting out my "trim shelf" ... don't think these belong to my 68 GTO.
1. Appears to be A pillar trim .. conv? 67 GTO? 2. Door sill? Seat trim? Notice the curve in at the right side ... if it's door sill .. early 60's Corvette? 3. Looks like A pillar trim ... like just the A pillar section of the piece on a 68 that is connected to the whole top piece. Again .. might be 67? Thanks! |

I don't think the first two items have any home on a 68 A body even if it's a convertible.

The first piece goes on 68-72 A body convertibles. It goes on the outside of the A pillar. The second 2 pieces fit inside the A pillar of a 68-72 A body. , the leading edge of the front window seal up against it. It of course holds a soft seal. I have a 69 GTO convertible and a 72 442 so I have direct knowledge. I can't tell if its for a convertible or a hardtop.

android ... I thought the A pillar trim on a 68-72 A body HT was once piece from the bottom of the A pillar all the way back to the rear of the quarter window. At least it was that way on the two 68's I've had. The Convertible would have to have a separate A pillar piece because it couldn't extend back to the quarter window ... since the top moved.
That would make sense if the first part in the first photo is from a convertible .... the pair of other parts may be from the same convertible. Mystery is ... I think they guy that gave these parts to me had a 67. |

I'm pretty sure the top piece goes on one side of the windshield of a convertible A body. I just sold a spare on e bay a few months ago.

Agree the first piece looks like the outside chrome on an A pillar from a 69 A-body convertible (and possibly other years). Should be about 22' in length and range from 2 1/2 to 3" in width approximately.
