Where to drill holes in new valve covers
I have some new fabricated valve covers without any holes drilled in them. What is the best location to drill the holes? I was thinking one in front and one in back with hoses directed to the open element air cleaner, like on a boat engine.

On anything with high forward acceleration rates , all the way up front is where you want them to be in the valve cover.
And if you have enough room make a folded up aluminum’ baffle out of a soda can to epoxy under them and keep oil from that front rocker from squirting up into it the breather. Just make sure the folded edge of you baffle leaves at least a 1/4” gap between that edge and the top of the valve cover.

Don't put the hole directly over a rocker, which could cause interference with the rubber grommet that you may be using
