One Last Time: Do Not be The Next Victim of Faulty Ford F-150 6R80 Transmission Coole

Rusty lines. Reminds me of the rusty brake line sabotage of their mid-90s vehicles: Towncars, trucks.

Had the same problem with my 93 K3500 dually from rusty cooler lines, before I caught it it definitely took some life out of the 4L80E, it flared on upshift from 2-3 after that incident, it never did that before. About 5 years later at 275,000 miles the transmission finally gave up. The whole truck is so rusty at this point, I decided against fixing the transmission. I updated to a 97 K3500 dually, I probably need to make new lines for that one before the same fate repeats itself.

Yep, all these rusted out lines and ruined engines and transmissions from contamination make the air cooled Tempest transmissions with the cooling fan built on the torque converter look like a good idea. The Chrysler junk is even weirder. When the trans cooler lines fail you have to replace the AC condenser. They decided it was a brilliant idea to make the cooler part of that component.

I learned something new again today. Thanks. Not surprised GM borrowed a bad idea from Chrysler. They seem to have an abundance of them.

My 08 dodge diesel had the lines rot out quickly and ruin my trans so it’s not just a ford thing , if you own a truck and especially if you plow at all keep an eye on those lines
