Bucket seat track relocation brackets, for more leg room
Anybody ever install the "seat extensions" that push the seat back a couple of inches? My son is over 6'4" and very leggy. I can see when he's driving that he's pretty tight in there. I'm 6'2" and have never felt cramped. But I thought that I would at least explore the option for the poor kid.
If it's some cheap crap or if it affects the integrity of the seat and everything, then I don't want anything to do with it. But if it does work , let me know. |

I added the driver's side extension on my 70 GTO. Required a bit of bending to match the correct contours. There is an instructional guide online somewhere. Maybe 400 4 spd will chime in, since his guys did the actual fitment/manipulation, but it came out great. I really needed any extra space I could get, being 6'4" also. Wasn't cramped with stock setup, but wasn't comfortable either.

I've got them from year one. Not sure how I survived without them. I'm 6'7" and it helped a lot, but I would take a couple more inches!

I installed them in our 69 Firebird with a bench seat, very pleased with the quality and integrity.

I made some of my own and installed them to give me about 1.5" more room. Did not affects the integrity of the seat whatsoever. I basically just did a copy of these. https://store.restoreamusclecar.com/...-4-pieces.aspx

After reading this thread I'm going to make myself a set. For some reason my 60 year old 6'4" body doesn't fit as well in the GTO as my 19 year old 6'4" body did

In almost all the cars I've had (since 1956) I've moved the front seat back by drilling new holes in the floorpan. [But I've always been into old machines; nothing newer than sixties]

I got another set for our GTO. Can't believe how little leg room these cars have.

I added a set of the extenders to the drivers seat of my 67 GTO. I’m 6’2” and it makes a world of difference

Playing around with seating positions in different cars, I found I could move seats forward some after tilting the entire seat backwards a little. Your knees are more bent, makes a big difference. And tilting lowers your head slightly as well. Feels less like sitting ON a seat, and more like IN the seat. Without a tilt column that probably ain't happening, good thing your 67 is nicely equipped. Try a stack of washers under the front of one seat and see? Could even combine that with seat extenders if it works. HTH
