Just measuring a couple heights on one head with straight edge and feeler gauges yielded about .045” on one valve and .035” on the other. |

Judging from your picture it seems to be quite a difference in height. Yeah those are freeze plugs. If it was me I’d remove them drill tape them for screw in plugs, here’s why as that head expands and contract’s your taking a chance of them blowing out. Had it happen to a friend on a set of Winszler heads. Plus there’s no telling how much of a press fit.

The difference in valve height just might affect push rod length. Can’t tell until you do a push rod length check. The taller intake valve push rod length may hit completely different on the exhaust valve. Meaning it’s to long for exhaust valve. Therefore affecting valve guides down the road. In others words push rod length for intake may end up in middle of top of the valve but the shorter exhaust valve may end up on end of the valve.

The other thing I would check is the valve springs, it’s obvious exhaust valve is shorter. So might end up with more seat pressure on exhaust. That doesn’t worry me as much as checking all valve springs for repeatability. Only to finds them off 30-40 and as much as 50#’s of each other. I guessing because of the different install heigh. I mean all of this can be corrected, but it’s anyone guess on the cost.
I say that about the valve springs because I had a well-known Pontiac engine builder do a set of Ellerbrock heads for me. What we found was they were completely the wrong valve springs for cam I was running. I would’ve definitely ended up with Valve float.

One real good thing is they have helicoil in were rocker studs go.

Could also mean how they machine to seats depth, would explain difference in valve hight. Meaning not consistent

Anybody have any info on the Wezler Stage II heads and they are a 12*
Valve angle? Wonder if anyone is using them on the street. Thanks GT |

Wenzler Series 2 heads can make good power in the right hands. They have a 14° valve inclination angle.

Looks like they would flow pretty well too. GT |

It does not look like a lot of materiel was removed. You can still see as cast areas.

Fully CNC machined from Speedmaster that we set up the springs, retainers and locks for your application. $2750 per set with free shipping! We are going to flow these ourselves so we have accurate readings but they look to have done it right so I'm expecting 320 or better.
That’s pretty good deal. Think I read they use Howard valve springs.

This is our standard pushrod location CNC Edelbrock head so you folks have something for comparison.
