1965 fan guard
Don't see a lot of decals that fit good on a 1965 fan guard. This fits good(picture)

Not sure if folks are following my better decals thread in the lobby, but I recently created new art for the '64/'65 fan decals and can reproduce them again if folks are interested since 8lug has sold out. I can do stickers no problem, but I also have a source that can produce water slides in small batches.

On the 1965 Tempest Series cars the vast majority of the caution decal was on the top of the fan guard, just like post #1.

In 1965 the Fan “Shield/Guard” had the caution decal placed on the rounded top portion. The Fan “Shroud” used on the air condition cars had the caution decal on the core support. Below are several examples I have on file. All these 1965 Tempest Series cars are Original Survivors.

More examples from ‘65 Survivors.
Two black & white pics from an early build ‘65 GTO magazine test car. Third photo is my friends 23,000 mile factory air condition car with the caution decal placed on the core support. Forth photo shows two Original fan shields that are obvious. Last photo is a Perfect water slide decal I placed on my ‘65. There is a PY member that sold these decals a few years back and I purchased some. The fit on the rounded top of shield is perfect.

The water slide Chris is referring to is still available. All water slides for 64 and 65 are still available. Sonic4u still has them.

Well, now you’ll have two sources for water slides as I ordered a few with the art I drew.

I also have a Fremont build A/C car - that one was on the passenger side of the core support.

So a factory A/C Kansas 65 GTO would have it where? I have the original steel fan shroud, but it did not have the sticker on the shroud or core support from 1980-1985; I assume it had been repainted when the car was changed from gold to black. I purchased a waterslide and placed it on the steel shroud in 2021 as it did not have one from refurbishments between 1995 and 2010.
Thanks! |

So would you say that Cardo's 65 A/C shroud had the sticker added after the factory delivered the car?

Look at the photo in my post.... that looks pretty factory to me. I'll defer to 60Stuff though - he's got oodles of survivor pics.
