1961 Catalina build at The Roadster Shop
The Roadster Shop is in the process of a complete build of a 1961 Catalina. Full custom chassis and suspension, and a supercharged LS engine and transmission. I personally would rather they had kept it all Pontiac but it's an impressive build. There are progress photos here: https://roadstershop.com/galleries/jons-1961-catalina/

I'm biased but big Pontiacs and supercharged LS engines are great (when done right and not this junkyard 5.3 nonsense people love to beat up)
I'd love an RS chassis under mine |

I love those bubble tops. If cash was no issue, I'd do a MT clone and through a bubble top on top of a '62 body/frame.

Did Pontiac ever build and sell a 1962 bubble top? I've seen the 1962 Chevy bubble tops.

No, but there have been a number of conversions done using 61 tops on a 62 body. I really like the look.

Pontiac did the '62 "bubbletop" in clay - and it looked good. But the picks I've seen made it look a little plain.
IMO they made the right call to use the Fisher 'steel convertible' on all the Catalinas and Bonnevilles. With the extra wheelbase and nicer trim, the look pushed them upmarket compared to Chevrolet, who only used the new Fisher roof on their top of the line Impala and Impala SS coupes. |

Looks like they are doing it right all it takes is time and $$.
