Carb ID help ?
I have a 17054905 carb on my 400. I know it's not the original. Can someone help identify it please? next to the 17054905 is 3217 and on the back of the bowl in the circle is 7044617 any help appreciated.

From the ID page in Cliffs book it looks like it is a 74 Chevy manual trans carb. The date it was built is 321st day of 1977. It may be a service replacement carb. That 9 in there has got me baffled, 1 or 2 means it is a Federal carb and a 4 or 5 means it is a California carb according to his book.
BUT, I may be wrong.... |

I think that is a sr carb for Pontiacs if memory is working.

Yeah , some of those 170xxxxx carb numbers go against conventional off the shoulder deciphering.
The one you have should be set up for the old style divorced choke thermostat. And a forward pointing fuel inlet. |
