I recently used them in a 455HO '71 GTO and was impressed with them. The adjustment felt the same for all the lifters and they were very quiet from the initial start-up.

I've used the older CC857 from around 2011 and they were fine and used the newer CC857 and had a nightmare with them.

Rather frustrating. The Evolution lifters have been out for quite awhile now but haven't seen reports on them - either good or bad.

If you haven't seen bad reports then I'd say your good to go because rarely will you see a good report on the internet, everyone is more quick to bash something it seems.

It would be such a small sample size on this forum anyway.

I wouldn't be afraid to try them Tim. I'm using a set on the next build that's waiting for me after I finish the current build.

I've got about 30 minutes run time on a set, but just on the test stand. Have rather quiet mufflers to use with the stand, and no lifters noise so far. The motor is now in the car, and I've just started wiring the EFI system and have some other wiring to do. Hopefully have the car in the muffler shop within a couple of weeks, then can evaluate more thoroughly.

Lee I think Joe ordered a set for the cam you are doing for his RAIV headed motor. I'll still bet you a single pattern or reverse split would work better

Are you saying the new Evolution lifters have the same part number as the old style lifter?

No, the quote here shows my first post that you might have missed regarding my opinion about my personal experience with using the CC new Evolution HR lifters. I posted a second one to offer a comparison with my experience with the previous two generations of CC857 HR lifters.

I have Johnsons in there now and to my surprise they do make a little noise on occasion but seem to be getting better. I will see how things go if I am unhappy with them I may upgrade to the Evolution's.

100 miles on the Evolutions that I mentioned above, so far so good.

Did the Evolution lifters require generally the same pushrod length you're accustomed to? Also, what is the recommended preload for them?

The motor I used them in previously had Lunati HR lifters and the body height of the CC Evolution where the PR sits was lower so I remeasured PR length and had to get new ones.
